A 15-year-old student lost a hand after picking up an exploding police stun grenade during school protests in Lens, France, where nationwide demonstrations over teacher shortages and poor facilities have entered their third week. The incident has intensified scrutiny and criticism from human rights groups like Amnesty International over disproportionate police force against minors, as clashes, arson, and blockades have led to nearly 600 school disruptions, 190 student injuries, and thousands of arrests across the country.
